Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) (FOOD STAMPS)
We are also pleased to announce that through our partnership with Seacoast Eat Local the Rochester Farmers Market has received a grant from Heal NH Foundation (HNH), enabling us to offer SNAP/EBT.
Seacoast Eat Local provides debit, credit and SNAP/EBT acceptance services. This means that any individual receiving SNAP benefits can access those benefits at the farmers' market. We, also, accept SNAP/EBT cards from surrounding states such as Maine and Massachusetts.
For every dollar a SNAP customer spends, they can receive a matching dollar in fruit and vegetable coupons. For example, if a SNAP customer swipes their EBT card for the amount of $10, they get ten additional dollars in fruit and vegetable coupons to use at the market, doubling their money. This is a federally funded program offered in partnership with Wholesome Wave and the NH Food Bank known as Granite State Market Match.
